Tribal Teachers Use Loudspeakers to Teach Kids with No Internet

One Teacher in Jharkhand State Makes Children’s Education a Level Playing Field

While students in many parts of India are attending online classes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers in the eastern Jharkhand state are holding in-person classes using loudspeakers. In a school of about 260 students in the tribal district of Dumka, half of the children don’t have access to the internet. Teacher Shyam Kishore Singh didn’t want those students to miss their classes, so he came up with this idea of teaching them in person while maintaining social distancing.
